About Course

Most cases of sexual assault begin with sexual harassment, both from people known as well as unknown to the victim. Sexual harassment that includes unwelcome and unsolicited requests for sexual favors and other such requests, either at home, at work or in public places, if not taken care of and stopped, could eventually escalate to an incident of sexual assault.

In this module we will focus on what the victims of sexual assault and rape go through. We will talk about the emotional response that a survivor of sexual assault has post the incident. Victims may find it hard to believe that something like this has happened to them. Recovering from an incident of assault is a process that could take weeks, months or years. We also provide you with certain steps that you should take after an assault has occurred.

Most people think that rape and sexual assault are only carried out by strangers who want to exercise control through their assaults. But in reality, you will be quite surprised to learn that majority of rapes and sexual assaults are perpetrated by people known to the victim, like family members, friends and other acquaintances.
